Nuala Edmundson is a top-tier archer from Mountain Green Archery Club, coached by Dave Henshaw. Competing at the highest level in New Zealand's archery scene, Nuala has established herself as one of the country's elite athletes. She is currently ranked 2nd in the Open Women category by Archery New Zealand.

Over the past three years, Nuala has achieved numerous outstanding results, both domestically and internationally. One of her greatest accomplishments came in 2024 when she secured a spot for the Paris 2024 Olympics, winning the Individual Matchplay at the Oceania Continental Qualifying Tournament in Auckland, New Zealand. This victory earned her a coveted Olympic Quota spot, marking a historic achievement in her career. Her victory at the tournament was particularly thrilling, as she triumphed in an intense one-arrow shoot-off, demonstrating her poise under pressure.

Nuala’s domestic successes have been equally impressive. She has consistently placed highly in major national competitions, including securing Gold in both the Target and Individual Matchplay categories at the 2024 North Island Championships. She also took home Bronze at the Kenny Rogers Memorial and One Tree Hill 2023 events. Additionally, Nuala set two New Zealand records in the U21 Women’s Recurve division, achieving a 70m distance record and a WA1440 event record at 70m.

Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 season, Nuala has set ambitious short-term goals. She aims to maintain Tier 2 selection scores to compete in the Asia Cup next year, as well as break the New Zealand U21 70m720 record before she ages out of the category. By shooting with a 40lb bow, she hopes to achieve greater consistency, particularly in windy conditions, which will improve her chances of breaking the record. Nuala is also focused on increasing her international arrow average and securing points in future matchplay events.

Nuala Edmundson’s unwavering dedication and impressive achievements have cemented her status as one of New Zealand's top archers, and her continued progress is one to watch as she aims for further success on the international stage.
