Kosei McGrath Takeji is an accomplished tenpin bowler from Manukau Superstrike, coached by Ernie Jensen, and a standout talent in New Zealand's tenpin bowling community. Currently ranked 3rd in New Zealand for U18, 1st for U21, and 3rd for Open Men, Kosei has earned numerous accolades in both national and international competitions.

Among his many achievements, Kosei’s greatest sporting triumph is his victory in the Junior Men Masters Singles at the 2022 TBNZ Junior/Youth Nationals, where he set a remarkable 9-game record of 2208 pinfall, with an average of 245 per game. He has also secured top positions in multiple tournaments, such as the 2024 Tauranga Classic (1st place, U21), the Trans-Tasman Challenge Cup (1st place, U18), and the 2023 TBNZ Nationals (1st place in U21 Doubles and U21 Team).

Notably, Kosei has represented New Zealand on the international stage at the 2024 World Youth Championships, where he finished 18th out of 67 in U21 Doubles, and the 2023 Asian Youth Tenpin Bowling Games in Thailand. He also earned perfect games during his career, including multiple occasions at the Manukau Superstrike Prems League and Waitakere Junior Youth Cup.

His continued success, including several national titles, such as in the U21 category at the 2023 TBNZ Nationals, cements Kosei as one of New Zealand’s rising stars in tenpin bowling. With his consistent high-level performance and international experience, Kosei is undoubtedly a name to watch in the future of the sport.
