Kendra Scally Tu'I
Achievements:
Kendra Scally Tu'i is a rising star in New Zealand athletics, representing Waitakere Athletics Club under the guidance of coach Nuree Greenhalgh. Ranked 1st in the country for Under 18 Athletics, Kendra has shown her exceptional talent across multiple disciplines.
Her achievements are numerous, with her most recent recognition being selection to represent New Zealand at the Oceania Athletics Championships in Suva, Fiji, in June 2024. She holds the title of Under 18 girls 200m champion and is the Area record holder. In addition, Kendra placed 3rd in the Under 18 girls 100m and 2nd in the 4x100m relay, where she was the 4th runner.
Kendra's dedication extends beyond athletics. She has represented New Zealand in Rugby Sevens, placing 5th at the Global Youth Sevens, and has been part of the Auckland Secondary Schools Girls 7s Championship-winning team. She has also achieved notable success in Touch Rugby, with a 3rd place finish at the Under 16 Touch New Zealand Nationals and being named MVP in the 2022/2023 season.
In February 2024, Kendra set a new Auckland Under 16 200m record at the Porritt Classic, further cementing her place as a top athlete. Her consistent success and versatility in athletics, rugby, and touch make her one of New Zealand's most promising young sports stars. Her greatest achievement so far is her upcoming representation of New Zealand at the Oceania Athletics Championships, where she is aiming for gold in the 200m.
